Supermarket Food

Saw this report on the BBC today about out-of-date food in supermarkets. (Program Whistleblower showing tonight at 9pm on BBC One)
Even after filtering out any media overexageration and sensationalism, it makes you think twice before picking up meat from the “reduced” section doesn’t it?

Help!
Ok, so you can’t help really. There is nothing that anyone can do to escape it. Fact is, it’s on tonight and you know you’ll watch some… and we both know it’s not for the music! Funniest thing tho, is that TheLondonPaper were offering 28-1 for the British act to win, yet 8-1 they’d get “nil points”. I’d take that bet
Let the nonsense begin!
Injured

Fuck.
In medical terms (or at least “internet medical terms”) I’ve partially ruptured the A2 pully in my left index finger. In short, that finger don’t work no more
Treatment is, sadly, rest for at least 2 weeks before gently building it up again over several more. I’m hoping it won’t take that long, it’d be nice to at least be able to look at Cornwall VS, not that I’m getting my hopes up about it…
So what to do in the meantime? Tricky! With a busted finger there are only so many things (well, activity related things) that you can just pick up and get on with. In fact, simple day to day stuff isn’t exactly straightforward either! With that in mind I’ve come up with a list of stuff you use that finger for every day. Some are obvious, but some I didn’t see coming…
Typing
Yes it’s obvious, but it means that this is taking twice as long to write (or rewrite - touch typing goes wrong when you take a finger away)
Eating
Thank god it’s my left hand, using a knife would be a *real* struggle! As it is a fork can just be held differently.
Tying shoelaces
Hilarious to watch I’m sure, but less fun to try and do!
Pairing socks
I learnt how to do this with my other hand last night after a painful mistake with the first pair… if only I’d been thinking
Chopping an onion
Well fuck me. Since I’m getting used to gripping with my middle finger instead I just got on with it last night, but any “tendon” worries nearly became insignificant as this tactic leaves your index very much “in the way”… it was a close one :S
Brushing your teeth
Ok, not the actual brushing, but you try holding and squeezing the toothpaste with your index finger straight. Not as easy as it sounds!
Taking anything out your pocket
Don’t know why, but ow!
Anyway, bored of the list now but you get the idea. Wouldn’t be so bad except that every time it hurts I’m reminded that I can’t climb for a while… rubbish! So if you see me and I seem grumpy, now you know why… ![]()

Almost unbelievably, the new gallery upload plugin worked and I’ve put up a selection of photos from Font.

The Missing Link?

No, not you Andy
I think I’ve found the easiest way imaginable to get my photos online from iPhoto!
You might remember a while back I was complaining about the stupid file structures etc created by iPhoto making it annoyingly difficult to share photos online. Well, yesterday I found a couple of plugins that *should* make the whole process much more straightforward, allowing me to upload photos to my gallery and Facebook directly from iPhoto. Bonkers!
I’m hoping to get it working tonight, so watch out for some new pics ![]()
