Goodnight!

Finally…

Well, it’s been a busy couple of weeks! So what’s been going on?

Swanage - thanks to rain on Sunday - became Portland. Managed to get a great day’s climbing in on the Saturday though before enjoying a walk down the coast and fun on the beach on Sunday. Just what the doctor ordered! There are some new photos up in the gallery from the weekend if you’re interested.

This weekend Mr Mayer joined me in London for some drinking fun. Turned into an awesome Friday night in Camberwell followed by a more subdued couple of days. Quality weekend… next time you’re climbing tho ;)

Mid week my Mum and Sister were in town. Been a while since I’ve seen either of them so was great to catch up a couple of evenings. Good pasta, better steak!

Other than that, work’s been pretty hectic hence the recent inactivity. A change is just around the corner though so we’ll see what happens with that. A change of scenery could also be on the cards, you never know!

Speaking of a change of scenery, deposit is down on the new flat! Going to be moving into a nice, purpose build block in Clapham South. Looks like a lovely place to live, and the common will be on our doorstep! Excellent!

That’s it for now, more when I have time :S

So many questions…

… but never enough time.

What can you do?

Posted in Rants on 18 Jul 2006 at 23:17

It’s a real shit feeling… helplessness. You want to do something, but you can’t. There’s nothing you can do that would change a damn thing. Or is there? What if you… no… that wouldn’t work. It’d only make matters worse and dump yourself in the shit too. But I swear… if I could…

Don’t know what else to say…

World War III?

Posted in Newswatch on 15 Jul 2006 at 17:16

Fact or not, you’d be forgiven for thinking that a third world war is about to errupt. That is of course if you don’t regard the war on terror as WW3 already!

I’m sorry to admit, that I don’t really understand half of what’s going on. Israel though, is my weakest subject of the lot. Just what the hell is going on there? Are they at war? With who? It seems (as the beeb have so aptly put it) that the different militant groups from seemingly everywhere else in the region, are all competing to become Israel’s #1 enemy. My big question is quite simply… why? Guess I need to read some more, unless anyone cares to enlighten me?

Then of course there’s N. Korea, who have for some time now been the thorn in the side of the likes of the US and UK, that is simply numbed with morphine to help us forget about it, but just doesn’t go away. Recent missile tests have caused the latest uproar, mostly because they agreed not to do them, but also because one of the tests involved a long range missile that could, in theory at least, reach Alaska. Not great for the US it has to be said, and it’s no surprise that they and Japan are leading the way towards trying to impose “sanctions” (sorry, but does anyone actually know what the hell they do anyway?) as, well, punishment I guess for doing bad things. Russia of course won’t let anything like that come officially through the UN, and N. Korea have warned of “grave circumstances” should they be imposed anyway… once again the questions are: What on earth do we do about N. Korea? And should we be doing anything at all?

The (hopefully) final chapter of unrest lies between India and Pakistan. I can’t see anything escilating too much to be honest, but what do I know? My general lack of knowledge on these subjects has already been thrown in your face like a smelly cream pie on a hot summer’s day! ;) Anyway, the terrorist train bombs last week can’t have escaped your attention unless you’re actually living under a rock. India seem fairly convinced the people behind it originated from Pakistan (what evidence they have for this I don’t know) and have warned that the long term peace process is under threat if they can’t control terrorists in their country (or something like that). Only way this escilates further is if evidence is found that directly links to Pakistan, or something else were to happen. Both of which I think are unlikely, but not impossible.

Sad times…
